What documents are needed to apply for the Naturalization process?

Three basic forms are needed to start the naturalization process.

• The Application for Naturalization or form N-400

A copy of your Permanent Resident Card

A copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable)

Additional documents might be needed if you were in the military or to prove employment

Will I have to answer civic questions to become naturalized?

Yes, during the interview process you will be asked 10 out of a possible 100 questions given to you in advance. You must answer at least 6 correctly to move on.

How many times can I do the application process to become a naturalized citizen?

You can apply an unlimited amount of times, although each time it will cost money and take time, so it is advisable to get a naturalization and citizenship lawyer to assist.

How long does it take to complete the naturalization process?

On average it takes about 6 months to complete the naturalization process after the form N-400 has been submitted.

If i was convicted of a crime in New York City can I still be a naturalized citizen?

Yes, It is still possible, but you must notify the immigration authorities and your naturalization and citizenship lawyer of all arrests, convictions and crimes.
